We adopted our 1st piggy, Truffles, last July. She only stayed with us 6 weeks. She had a heart condition and I did not know enough about pigs yet to see what was happening until it was too late. She was a red and white crested. The last 2 hours of her life, I held her and scratched her crest (she loved it) and she passed in my arms at 2am. If I had only known of these forums I wonder if I could have saved her. My attention to Sierra's medical needs is a tribute to Truffles. I know when Sierra drops 10 grams. I will never miss an illness again. RIP Truffles, my first pih at 39 years old!

Oh, I'm so sorry about Truffles, BrendaB. Some things are so hard to diagnose, even with the most experienced owner. Many vets are still sadly behind on guinea pig illness and treatment, particularly heart issues. Hugs, sef
