I am trying to decide who to pair with whom, after adopting two new boys last month.
Today, Jeremy and new guy Albert had a playdate. After a couple of hours of relative peace and quiet, I went ahead and put them in a newly cleaned cage to see how they get along there. So far so good, with just normal chasing and mounting. No teeth chattering yet. I sure hope the pairing works...they look really cute together.
If it does, the next plan is to introduce baby Barnaby with Aaron.
Fingers crossed!

Today's playdate went well and both guys are settling their territory in a new home! So far so good.

Hoping it continues. But wait till hormones kick it. Bonding goes done the toilet then. Even between sisters we have found. Got paws crossed here!

Fortunately these are both adults, but yeah...been there, done that! Still not sure this is going to work, but hoping so. 5 cages is too much work!
(GPL, don't know how you manage 15 or 20!)

Hope they play nice. More than 2 or 3 cages is a lot of work. Right now I only have 11 cages set up. Still a lot of work. Good luck with intros!

I've a question for GPL (you are Sef's friend who runs a pig rescue?)- how are adoption postings done? Do you have to post on Petfinder and your website separately? Or is there a universal posting where you only need to post once and it gets picked up on Petfinder, other rescue websites?
Still getting the hang of this website -- not sure where this would go. Hope ok to ask it here.

There is a link to petfinder from my website. I list on petfinder and they list it in some other places.

GPL (are you also gpl2? I'm not sure if I should be addressing this to someone else?) Do you just rescue pigs? Or other animals too? What motivated you to start a rescue?
It must take a huge amount of dedication to run a rescue and all that it entails. I'm in awe of people who do that, day in and day out.

Hmm, I see there's senior pigaholic and junior pigaholic but no Baby pigaholic. Wouldn't a baby Pigaholic sound kind of cute? Like Baby Barnaby!)
What say you, Grand Poo Bah?

I didn't mean to hijack this thread, sorry Sef! Feel free to delete my comments. This bleak, cold, sleety weather is distracting me.

I like the Baby Pigaholic idea! I think I'll do that! I'll add to what GPL was saying...there is a plug-in on Petfinder that can be embedded onto any website. It's based on the rescue's ID number, and pulls in all of the adoptable pets listed. It has been a while since I tinkered with it, but there used to be several different formats and also a way to list a "featured pet" on your site (again, a plug-in through Petfinder that pulls the pet database into the script). Hope that makes sense. Sleeting here as we speak!
