I got a few pictures of laptime with the guinea pigs and finally got around to sharing them. I probably should have put Dean's tales of the tailless with Sammy, but it's okay. Dean always lays his head down when he sits with me; that is unless he's in the process of eating his treat. He had already eaten his treats and was relaxing. He's such a precious little guy.

My 3 youngest grandkids have been staying here full time for the last 3 weeks because their dad and two older sisters all tested positive for covid. None of them required hospitalization and all have recovered, so there's no problem. The younger girl, Hope is 9 and she has latched on to Dean. He has reciprocated and they are inseparable. It's really cute.

Dean is quite a guinea pig as it is, but Hope has brought his character out even more. He never was much of a squeaker and has never purred much. That is before he and Hope got so attached. He always comes to the front of the cage to see me, but usually only for me. He likes when she comes to see him and she's the only other person he'll let pick him up. It now has been proven that guinea pigs pick their favorite humans.

She must have something about her as animals know who are special people and fall in love with and trust them. Maybe he could sense she needed some-one as she was missing her family! So glad Dean is come out of his shell!

Hope is actually a very sweet child. I think Dean and the others all pick up on that. They all like her.

She must be like my husband who moves slowly, speaks softly and has an aurora about him that animals like. Where as I am a bulldozer and grew up with hard of hearing people so I talk loudly which of course the girls hate!
So glad the boys love her and she them. Love the name Hope by the way!

Sammy and Dean are doing very well. They're a solid pair of sweet guinea pigs. It's funny how after all this time being with us, they still have to be in a certain spot before they'll allow us to pick them up. They know when they're getting picked up and run to their spots to wait. When I'm just adding hay or giving them veggies and treats, they don't do that. They get their turn to graze today and I'm sure they'll really enjoy that.
