Mr Bubbles is the first guinea pig I got when I decided to have them as pets again. Actually my wife and granddaughter, Ella made the decision for me. Ella saw a video and decided that she wanted a guinea pig. I had some experience with them since my sister had them when we were growing up. I knew about the messes that comes with them and that she would lose interest when she got grossed out from being peed on, pooped on or had to change the bedding. I had told her no on having one, but grandma gave in and got Mr Bubbles from Petco. I've learned about adopting vs pet store pigs since getting him and Scruffy. The other 6 pigs in my herd are all rescues. I was right. She lost interest within a month. Since I had already gotten attached to his, it was easy for me to take over his care. Don't get me wrong; Ella loves the guinea pigs, especially Mr Bubbles very much. She holds him and gives him plenty of love and attention, but the rest of the care falls on me. As far as personality goes, Mr Bubbles is not lacking. He's got that "too cool to do guinea pig stuff" vibe. He doesn't wheek at all. He doesn't really play much. It's not really his thing but you can see that he's happy. He'd be my best piggie, if it was possible to have one better than the others. He'd the only one that will jump into my arms. The rest of them have to go to a certain spot in the cage to be picked up. He's the King of the guinea pig kisses too. He loves giving them.
This is the day we brought him home. It's a little blurry but you can see how tiny he was. He actually laid in that bowl after he dumped the pellets.
He loves to graze outside. He also liked to graze with Scruffy in the next cube. I never got them to pair up, but they loved to socialize as long as the barrier kept them separated.
He's always been a sound sleeper. He sleeps so well because he's secure and well loved.
He eats a lot of grass. This is how he lets me know he's had his fill and is ready to go inside and take a nap. He's also a mentor for the rest of the guys when it comes to being outside to graze. He has a sort of calming effect on them when they get jumpy because they see how calm and cool he is out there. He's never gotten scared of the noises out there and has always been completely at ease.

Got Mr Bubbles some laptime. He was relaxing until I disturbed him for a photo. That little brown spot next to his nostril gets me every time. It looks like his nose is running, but that's just the color of his fur there. It has gotten lighter in color as he's aged. Anyway, he's one of my best lap piggies. He loves to have treats when he sits with me. He had already eaten his baby carrot.

Just look at that adorable little face! He's very photogenic. Love the little crest on top of his head, too.

Nail trim today for Mr Bubbles. He did well. Didn't even pout afterwards. Normally he has an hour or so long pout session, but not this time. His front claws are curved under quite a bit and will grow into the pads of his feet if I don't keep them trimmed. Even when they aren't grown in, they poke his pads. That gets pretty uncomfortable I'd imagine, so I think he feels some relief after they get trimmed.

Awww! Good boy, Mr. Bubbles! Too cute that he usually pouts. I'm betting his little feet feel a whole lot better!

As if we all didn't already know, guinea pigs are smart. Nobody can convince me otherwise. They're also in tune with their humans. They feel what we feel and they're eager to help us through tough times when we need them. After losing BJ today, I really appreciate having all of my boys, but Mr Bubbles in particular. He's been a godsend today. He did the same thing for me when I lost Scruffy.
I've spent a lot of time in the room today cleaning and rearranging. On a few occasions, he's done extra cute things for me. He wheaked; which is something he very rarely does. When I reached in to pet him, he straight ran up my arm to give me a guinea pig hug under my chin. Later when I went to pick him up, he popcorned and then jumped right up into my arms. He cleared the cage floor by about 6 inches. I just fed the boys and right on cue he was there for me again.
All of the boys know that when I walk out of the room with those metal pans, it's veggie time. It takes me 5-10 minutes to prepare them. As I turned the corner to go in and feed them, I saw Mr Bubbles poised with his head up watching for me to come in. As soon as I entered, he ran up to the front all excited. It was so cute that it brought a smile to my face, which hasn't happened much today.
