Our Jay loves sitting on our shoulders too. Lewis was very handsome like a caterpillar. So glad he found love and happiness when he found you both. RIP sweet Lewis, run free and popcorn in paradise. You were so loved and sorely missed! Big hugs.

I love how they sit on your shoulder. I only have two who did that. Scruffy and Gilligan. Mr Bubbles comes close, but he stops and nestles under my chin instead. The rest of my pigs sit in my lap or climb all over me (Sammy and Skipper do the climbing).
Here's Gilligan. He's still alive and well, but I'm posting this picture here because it melted my heart the first time he climbed up there like Scruffy always did.
And here's the legend, Scruffy. He bit lots of holes in my shirts from up there.

Those are great pictures. We haven't had too many other perchers. Zachary was one; Jethro liked to perch when he was a baby but he has pretty much outgrown it. Lewis actually came to us as a very nervous, frightened guinea pig who would bite if you weren't very careful with him. He would have panic attacks when we first got him, and would suddenly run across his cage and fling himself into the grids. It was horrible to watch. With time and patient handling, he slowly came to trust us and very seldom nipped unless you moved your hand too quickly when holding him. We eventually paired Lewis with Gabriel (our little ADD pig who came from a bad breeding situation), and the two instantly bonded and helped overcome some of their fear.

Lovely piggies! Watch out people, raft is built. When we first got Jay she was around 8 weeks old, left her on lounge chair went in kitchen for 15 seconds, came back and she was standing on top of lounge chair looking into Jewel's cage pinching her hay. It was so cute!
