My Guinea Pig names were given based either on their personalities, appearances or a theme. The only exception is Barry Jenkins, who is my PEW with red eyes. That is the name he had when I adopted him. Since he's 4 years old, I didn't see any reason to change it. Besides, I rather like calling him BJ for short.
Scruffy (passed away about a year ago) got his name from his Abby appearance.
Mr Bubbles was named by my granddaughter for the bubbly purring noise he makes; a lot! He's such a happy guy, he purrs all the time.
Sammy and Dean are named after the Winchester brothers on Supernatural. They were called Hades and Mr Crowley, but those are not good names for piggies. I'm thinking the previous owner was an Ozzy Osbourne fan.
Oreo is very appropriately named. Hi colors are black and white with the white running through his middle; exactly like an Oreo cookie.
Gilligan and Skipper used to be Ginger and Wasabe. I didn't like the name Wasabe, so I changed it to Marry Anne with the Gilligan's Island theme. After their initial checkup and nail trim, I found out that they had been missexed somewhere along the line and that they're both boars, not sows. In sticking with the theme, they became two of the most famous castaways. They're actually a lot like the characters they're named for. Gilligan likes to get on Skipper's nerves and Skipper does this little but bump to get Gilligan to move out of his way.
So that's how my Guinea pigs got their names.
